This presentation introduces the Business Intelligence and Reporting
Tools (BIRT) project (http://www.eclipse.org/birt), a powerful reporting
framework that is part of the open source Eclipse initiative. Using
BIRT, developers can incorporate reports into their applications without
the need for time-consuming custom code, or they can build on and extend
BIRT to provide valuable reporting services specifically tailored for
their applications and products.

About the Speaker:
Paul Clenahan is VP of Product Management at Actuate Corporation and
part of the Eclipse Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT)
Project Management Council (PMC). Paul has over 17 years experience in
the enterprise business intelligence industry working in a variety of
consulting and Product Management roles with diverse customer
applications. At Actuate, Paul is currently responsible for coordinating
overall product direction and vision based on emerging technology
trends, market demands, customer feedback and internal innovation. Paul
is also a member of the Eclipse Requirements Council.
Prior to joining Actuate, Paul held several positions at Information Builders in New York, including Director of WebFOCUS Product Management. Paul holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Edinburgh University, Scotland.
