Abstract

This talk will be an overview of the role of Active Server Pages in database-driven Web sites. You'll learn why large sites such as Barnes and Noble, Dell Online and Microsoft use Active Server Pages to handle huge numbers of users.

An overview of the Active Server Pages Objects and Components will be presented. You'll also learn about some of the features of the latest version of ASP. Then, we will move to a practical demonstration, with sample scripts, of Active Server Pages programming. You'll learn how to create a simple guest book. We will cover the basics of opening a database connection, putting things into a database, and displaying items from a database.

Questions and answer period will follow in which the speaker promises to tackle your toughest questions about Active Server Pages.

This is one of Dan's best-received presentations. It should be fast-paced, up-to-the-minute, and often humorous.
