Internet Commerce revenues were reported at $10.6 Billion in 1997 and these revenues are projected to grow at a phenomenal rate over the next few years. This talk will discuss Internet Payment Products with a particular focus on the SET protocol and its impact on product architecture. We will look at what SET brings to the table and examine the user experience using the SET wallet.
Humphrey Williams is Director of Engineering with Verifone's Internet Commerce Division where he looks after development programs for consumer and merchant payment products [vWALLET and vPOS]. Humphrey has 20+ years experience in software development and telecommunications and has a Ph.D in control systems from the University of Manchester in England. He has spent the last 10 years with Verifone building payment platforms of many different types. Since its foundation at the end of 1995, The Internet Commerce Division at Verifone has been developing and deploying SET products for trials all over the world. Verifone is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Hewlett Packard.
